DETAILED INFORMATION
This post provides information on SAE J525 tubing, SAE J525 hydraulic tubes, SAE J525 welded tubes, SAE J525 steel tubing, SAE J525 equivalent materials, SAE J525 chemical composition, SAE J525 mechanical properties, and SAE J525 standards.
We also produce cold-drawn and annealed seamless low-carbon steel pressure tubing for hydraulic lines and other applications that require flexible and bendable tubing. We offer hoses in 20-foot lengths that meet SAE J525 specifications. Material made from.
We produced by rolling flat sheets of raw material on a weld mill. This material is dead soft when produced, which allows for easy bending and flaring during hydraulic fluid line applications. AISI classes 1008 and 1010, as well as 1020 and 1026, are available. Normalizing heat treatment makes the tube suitable for cold working
This standard specifies normalized electric-resistance welded, cold-drawn, single-wall, low-carbon steel pressure tubing for pressure lines and other applications requiring flexibility, forming, and brazing capabilities.
Our stock of SAE J525 Steel Tube is suitable for hydraulic applications and other applications that require tubing of a quality suitable for flaring and bending. Our tubes have exceptionally clean and bright ODs and IDs and are shipped with capped ends to prevent contamination.
We are a leading manufacturer, supplier, exporter, and distributor of low-carbon steel pipe and tubing. For hydraulic parts, we supply and stock welded tubing based on SAE J525 Steel Tube. It is required that tubes that are specified by their diameters (or their inner diameters) and their nominal wall thicknesses have tolerances that correspond to the diameter and no thickness variation exceeding 10%.
Quality
A cold working operation must be performed after normalizing the tubing. At least 8 percent of the walls must be reduced in cold working, resulting in a minimum reduction of 15 percent. The tubing shall be cold-worked so that annealing produces a product that meets all specifications.
The hydraulic tube is made of welded low-carbon steel tubing that has been annealed for bending and flaring. The tubing of high quality for bending, flaring, forming, and brazing. Hydraulic components are used in heavy equipment, agriculture, off-road vehicles, automobiles, steering and transmission components, process and utility applications, etc.
525 hydraulic tubing is a welded low-carbon steel tube annealed for bending and flaring, and it can be used for a wide range of applications. These high-quality tubings are used in applications where high-quality tubing is required for bending, flaring, forming, and brazing of pressure lines. The most common applications for this type of pump are in the areas of Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Off-Road Vehicles, Automotive, Steering and Transmission components, Process, and Utility, as well as other hydraulic applications.
Moreover, the manufacturing process of our J525 high-pressure tubing is comprised of several cold-drawn reductions, intermediate anneals, and a dead-soft anneal after the final sizing has been accomplished. As a result, the resulting tubing has a consistent quality and is easy to bend and flare due to its consistent quality.
In a similar way to J524, J525 is also a hydraulic fluid, and both have the same chemical and mechanical properties as J524. As opposed to J525, J525 begins as flat stock that is welded from the inside out. Unless there is a need for flaring, J524 Seamless is typically the preferred product where flaring is required. Despite this, both items are of high quality and have specifications that are comparable to each other.
Additionally, our J525 high-pressure tubing undergoes several cold-drawn reductions, intermediate anneals, and a dead-soft anneal after final sizing. As a result, the tubing is consistent and of high quality and is easy to bend and flare.
Both J524 and J525 are used in hydraulic applications, with similar chemical and mechanical properties. In contrast, J525 is welded from flat stock. In cases where flaring is required, J524 Seamless is usually the best choice. In spite of this, both are of high quality and have comparable specifications.

Flattening Test — A section at least three inches in length shall be taken from every 1500 feet or less of finished tubing and shall be flattened between parallel plates to three times the wall thickness of the tube. The weld shall be placed at a point of 90 degrees from the direction of applied force. Any cracking or flaws revealed by this test shall be cause for rejection. Superficial ruptures resulting from minor surface imperfections shall not be cause for rejection.
Reverse Flattening Test — A section at least four inches in length shall be taken from every 1500 feet or less of finished tubing and split longitudinally 90 degrees on each side of the weld and the sample opened and flattened. There shall be no evidence of cracks or lack of penetration or overlaps resulting from flash removal in the weld.

EXPANSION TEST — A suitable specimen shall be taken from every 1500 feet or less of tubing and subjected to an expansion over a plug. The outside diameter must be expanded 25 percent throughout a length equal to the outside diameter of the tubing or one inch, whichever is greater. There shall be no evidence of cracking in this test.
Pressure Or Electrical Test — Tubing supplied under this specification shall have been hydrostatically tested at a fibre stress of 20,000 psi or at an actual pressure of 5,000 psi, whichever is less, based on the applicable minimum wall, or tested by use of a non-destructive electrical test approved by the purchaser.

Pressure Ratings, Steel Tubing For General Hydraulic System Applications
This chart shows the nominal pressure ratings for tubing products based on SAE J525 Steel Tube. These pressure ratings were calculated using the Lame formula with 12,500 PSI (86MPa) stress factors and a 4:1 design factor. The SAE J533 recommends 37 degrees of single flaring for tubing with a normal wall thickness for the wall thicknesses shown in bold.
A variety of factors determine whether hydraulic systems perform satisfactorily at different pressures. Neither the values listed below should be construed as standards or specifications. Equivalent specifications for SAE J525 steel tubes
