Hastelloy C22/C276 Flanges is an austenitic tungsten, nickel, chromium and molybdenum based alloy that has a well-improvised resistance ability against stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion. The high content of chromium is providing excellent oxidising media resistance and tungsten & molybdenum is giving excellent resistance to the oxidising aqueous media including mixtures containing oxidising/nitric acid and wet chlorine. Also, it resists acetic acid, seawater, etc.

As far as the chemical process environments are concerned, Hastelloy C-22 alloy has exceptional resistance to strong oxidizers, such as cupric and ferric chlorides, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions, acetic anhydride, acetic acids, formic, seawater, and brine solutions, as well as inorganic and organic solutions, as well as acetic anhydride and acetic acids. As a result of its ability to resist the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, Hastelloy C-22 alloy is suitable for use in most chemical process applications in an as-welded condition.

The Hastelloy C-276 alloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy which is generally considered to be a versatile corrosion-resistance alloy. There are several advantages to using the C-276 alloy over alloy C in that the alloy does not need to be solution heated after welding and it can be fabricated much more easily due to its improved fabricability. The weld heat-affected zone of this alloy resists the formation of grain boundary precipitaties and, as a result, is suitable for most chemical processing applications in the as-welded condition. Weld filler materials such as C-22® should, however, be considered in environments where the C-276 alloy weld joint may be attacked by the alloy or the environment.
