DETAILED INFORMATION
Carbon Steel Seamless Tubes with subsequent additions of chromium, molybdenum, and sometimes vanadium are known as chrome moly tubes. The Steel Exporter manufactured to ASTM specifications are used for high temperature applications.
Seamless Alloy Steel Tubes according to ASTM A213 Grade T5c are reheated and supplied in full annealed, isothermal annealed, or normalised quenched and tempered condition. There is a typical chemistry for ASTM A213 Grade T5c Alloy Steel Seamless Tubes with additions of 4.00-6.00 Chromium and 0.45-0.65 Molybdenum. With a minimum tensile strength of 415 Mpa, ASTM A213 Grade T5c Tubes have a minimum yield strength of 205 Mpa.
ASTM A213 Grade T5c Alloy Steel Seamless Tubes are seamless ferritic and austenitic steel boiler and superheater tubes and austenitic steel heat exchanger tubes, designated Grades T5, T11, T22, T91 etc. Standard sizes and thicknesses of ASTM A213 Grade T5c tubing are 1-8 in. From 3.2 mm to 5 inches in inside diameter. A diameter of 127 mm and a thickness of 0.015 to 0.500 inches. Minimum wall thickness is [0.4 to 12.7 mm]. Tubes of A213 with other dimensions may be supplied, provided they meet all other requirements.
The Steel Exporter is a large manufacturer of alloy steel ASTM A213 T5 tubes. T5 alloy tubes can be used interchangeably in applications where acidified solutions can introduce a high corrosion risk. In ASME SA213 AS T5 Seamless Tubes, hot work should be carried out between 2300°F and 1850°F, while light work can be carried out as low as 1600°F.
The alloy steel tube 213 T5 is also known as ASTM A213 T5 chrome moly tube due to the combination of chrome (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo). Alloy Steel Welded T5 Tubes should not be hot worked between 1600°F and 1200°F due to lower ductility.
The growth of grain in alloy steel EFW T5 tubes may be objectionable above this temperature, but very large heating at 1900 degrees F will cause complete softening without excessive grain growth. Because of this, age-hardened alloys, such as T5 Alloy Steel ERW Tubes, are machined using an aggressive but slow cut with a hard tool, minimizing the number of passes.
Alloy Steel T5 Rectangular Tubes can be cold worked at levels between 30 and 65 % due to their high yield strengths at room temperature. With ASTM A213 Alloy Steel T5 Round Tubes, most of the machining can be performed with the work piece in a solutionized state, with only the final steps performed after age hardening. As a result of the UNS number being covered by ASME, ASTM, ISO, DIN and other international standards, Alloy Steel T5 Square Tubes are available in a wide range of product forms.
